The inaugural edition of the Delhi Premier League will have both men’s and women’s matches will be organized at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The franchise auction for the league was held on Sunday and resulted in the sale of six men’s teams for a total amount of INR 49.65 Crore.
The top four bidders in the men’s franchise auction automatically required the women’s teams’ possessions, further promoting gender equality in the league.
Delhi Premier League 2024 Men’s Squad
The maiden season of DPL will feature a total of 40 matches with 33 games in the Men’s category and seven in the women’s category.
The inauguration ceremony has a draft of 270 players all across Delhi, including U-23, and U-19. Former Indian cricket Virender Sehwag, the brand ambassador of the league showed his enthusiasm and said that it’s a great opportunity for the cricketers who don’t get a chance in the IPL or national team.
International stars Rishabh Pant, Navdeep Saini, and Harshit Rana are set to feature in the tournament. The women’s squad for all the teams has been revealed along with the Men’s squad on August 03.
