Rain has ruined the showdown between the Sydney Sixers and Brisbane Heat in Coffs Harbour with the grand final rematch washed out without a ball being bowled.
The Heat are now on five points with four matches to go and would need to win three of those to give themselves a strong chance of finishing in the top four, having lost to the Sixers last week.

“The worst news confirmed – that hand shake did in fact mark the end of this game,” said Eloise Sohier.
“The rain really hasn’t stopped. In the last 45 minutes it’s come down the heaviest it’s been all afternoon.
“The crowd are starting to head back to their cars. The captains have had a handshake and the game is off.”
Meanwhile Sydney Sixers’ sits comfortably on the top of the BBL 2024-25 points table. There were hopes that the covers would come off at one stage, but persistent rain only got heavier as the game was officially called off an hour after play was scheduled to begin.
Brisbane Heat’s next match wil be against Sydney Thunder on January 06 at The Gabba.
