Player of the Match
Nathan McAndrew | Sydney Thunder
Bit of a bowler friendly wicket out there. Stoinis and Maxwell looked dangerous but we held our nerve. The crowd was buzzing, they were so loud that we couldn’t hear the nick (1.4).
We’ve played in quite a lot of finals but we’ve not had a lot of home finals, we love playing here. Hopefully we can win two more for them (fans). We knew it was defendable.
The early wickets were pretty crucial, we knew it was going to be hard to bat in the middle overs. Knew they were going to come hard at us in the powerplay.
When we got Maxwell, well it didn’t kill the game completely but went a long way in our favour.
He’s (Warner) been brilliant and very vocal, he loves it, hopefully we can keep him young and keep him around for a long time.
