Player of the Match
David Warner | Sydney Thunder
Means a lot for us and means a lot for the fans. We got close against the Sixers. The way they keep turning up here is outstanding. We can’t thank them enough. Without them we don’t get to play this amazing game.
It’s important for us. We go away to Perth and Brisbane. Will be ideal if we win both. Great momentum going into those games. They are really good teams at their home venue. Will try to rest up tomorrow, have a good new year’s eve and get over to Perth. I am (enjoying his cricket). Been hitting them well in the nets.
Just really wanted to make a statement. Put pressure back on the bowlers. Was able to do that. Main thing about this game is executing and staying nice and still. On this wicket you need to do that. Knew it was going to be hard for the next couple of batters.
The way they bowled and executed was the blueprint for us. Credit to the way our bowlers bowled. There are a bunch of hitters there and they clear the boundaries well. I was happy with the way they were brave. Knew if we could squeeze some dots, bowl our slower balls well and execute, it’ll hold us in good stead.
Phenomenal, isn’t he (talking about Wes Agar). His execution of his plan is clear. That’s what you love as a captain. It was hard keeping him on the bench. He’s going to be a big part for us this year.
