Player of the Match
Sam Billings | Sydney Thunder
It’s brilliant. I don’t think we played our perfect game, hopefully we are saving that for Monday. Good team performance, the bowlers were brilliant and that really set the tone. Just get across the line, we’ve done it all season, we are just finding a way, really happy.
The great thing about this tournament is we’ve practically played two finals in the last couple of days in very different conditions. We had to adapt quickly. We’ve got enough experience around the group to calm the young lads down.
But it’s funny, in finals sometimes, the younger lads are the ones that just fly out there. We know we have the quality to get the job done.
(On David Warner’s aggressive attitude) When doesn’t he have that attitude? It’s infectious, his attitude and the way he approaches the game. Obviously as an Englishman saying that, a few people at home will be cursing me. To play alongside him, you learn everyday.
You see why he’s one of the best players ever to play this format of the game. For us to have that experience and that leadership there, he’s played brilliantly this year. We have won another final without him getting a solid contribution.
It’s been a real team effort. All to play for, we know we are playing arguably the best team in the competition and on their home patch, really looking forward to it. That’s why you play the game, you want to be in finals.
