Afghanistan Innings

On winning the toss, Afghanistan chose to bat and started their innings. As they lead the series 2-0, Afghanistan was so confident at the start, but the continuous losing wickets of Top order batsman Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmat Shah in the hands of Shouriful Islan in the third over shook the batters.

After the fall of Rahunmallah Gurbaz on the 6 over by Taskin Ahmed, the captain Shahidi entered the ground under pressure as the team score is only 8 runs with a fall of two wickets.

Shahidi’s 22 runs out of 54 deliveries were brought to an end by Taijul Islam’s bowling. Then Nabi and Najubullah lost their wickets on lbw on the balls of Shoriful and Shakib. Azmatullah’s 56 runs on 71 balls backed Afghanistan from the pathetic situation of the team.

But the players like Abdul Rahman, Zia ur Rehman, and Mujeeb could make a partnership with Azmatullah. After his catch by Mohammed Naim in the over of Taskin Ahmed Afghanistan had scored a total of 126 runs losing 10 wickets in the 46th over.

Player of the Match

Shoriful Islam |  Bangladesh

Happy, worked very hard. I’ve been listening to Allan Donald’s advice. The bowling partnership with Taskin really helped me.

Player of the Series

Fazalhaq Farooqi

Struggled in the Sri Lanka series, I worked very hard and prepared really well in Abu Dhabi. I tried too many things in Sri Lanka. I just wanted to bowl in the right areas and that’s why I was successful here.
