    Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

Ahead of the series start, the Indian cricket team was struck with a tragedy as Rohit Sharma opted out of the first test to be with his family who are expecting their second baby during the third week of November 2024.

Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah will lead the team in the absence of Rohit.

India has named the 18-member squad for the Australia test series along with Mukesh Kumar, Navdeep Saini and Khaleel Ahmed as travelling reserves.

On the other hand, Nathan McSweeney received a maiden call-up from Cricket Australia for the BGT 2024-25. The hosts also made a late surprise by including Josh Inglis in a 13-player squad.
