Pakistan pacer Mohammad Hasnain has been named as the replacement player for Shaheen Shah Afridi in the Asia Cup 2022 Pakistan squad.

Earlier, PCB announced that Shaheen Shah Afridi has been ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 owing to an injury. As per the medical team’s advice, Shaheen Shah Afridi will remain in rest for a duration of six weeks.
Mohammad Hasnain who made his first-class debut for Pakistan Television in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy on 1 September 2018 made his Twenty20 debut for the Quetta Gladiators in the 2019 Pakistan Super League (PSL) on 27 February 2019. He grabbed the spotlight in the tournament after he bowled the fastest delivery of the tournament, at 151 km/h.
Mohammad Hasnain made his T20I debut against England on May 5, 2019 and went on to play 18 T20I matches so far and bagged 17 wickets.
Notably, in February 2022, Hasnain was suspended from bowling in international cricket by the International Cricket Council (ICC) due to an illegal bowling action but in June 2022, he was cleared to bowl following assements on his action.
Mohammad Hasnain was also named in Pakistan’s squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
As per Asia Cup 2022 schedule, Pakistan will play their first match of the tournament against India on August 28 in Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.
