Ahead of the much-awaited Afghanistan vs Pakistan clash in Sri Lanka, Afghan batter Najibullah Zadran has been ruled out of the 3-match ODI series.
Najibullah Zadran Ruled Out of 3-Match ODI Series Against Pakistan
As per Afghanistan v Pakistan 2023 schedule, the first match will be played on August 22 at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota. The second match will be played at the same venue on August 24 while the last ODI match will be played on August 26 at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.
Najibullah Zadran has been ruled out of the ODI series after he sustained a knee injury. Following his unexpected exit, Afghanistan Cricket Board has named Shahidullah Kamal named as his replacement. Shahidullah Kamal so far played 1 ODI and 1 Test game for the national cricket team.
Shahidullah Kamal made his ODI debut on January 21, 2022 against the Netherlands at West End Park International Cricket Stadium.
The Afghan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed the news earlier today on their social media, revealing that Zadran’s injury would keep him sidelined for the entirety of the series. Left-handed batter Shahid Kamal will be stepping into the squad as his replacement.
