What happened the other day in Pretoria, the weather was settling down, we had time though and at one stage we felt it was slipping away, grateful we got a game in.
[on the bowlers] Brilliantly, we saw that there was extra bounce, sometimes it was shooting through nicely, if you hit that good length there was enough in it for the bowlers.
When there is rain, you are a bit challenged, limited with the options. The first over of the innings set the tone for us, takes a brave man to hit that first ball for six, the intent was key.
[on du Plooy] His gameplan is really suited for South African conditions, he hits square and also he uses his feet, he is maturing as a player for us. Tonight the left-right combination, we took that positive option and that worked well.
The tricky part with not having played cricket for a while is looking for rhythm, I’m a big rhythm player, first couple of games it was not there, only the last couple of games it has been clicking.
I knew it was just one innings, took me a bit longer than I liked. Previous game I felt like it came back. Frustrated there with the rain as I wanted to cash in.
100% tonight is huge, especially with a bonus point in a short game like that. To let the competition we are still fighting and not going anywhere.
