Within a few hours after the completion of the first semifinals between Tamil Nadu and Mumbai, the venue for the Ranji Trophy finals is likely to be hosted at Wankhede Stadium.

The finals of the First Class tournament Ranji Trophy 2024 is set to be held at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
The Mumbai Cricket Association has been entrusted to host the finals of the tournament in the stadium which has a history of organizing prestigious events like the World Cup finals in 2011.
“Most likely, the Wankhede will be the venue. The final decision will be made within the next 24 hours,” said the MCA official. The news about the final venue came after Mumbai’s victory over Tamil Nadu by an innings and 70 runs in the first semi-finals of the Ranji trophy schedule.
The opponents for the final will be the winners of the ongoing second Semifinal between Vidharbha and Madhya Pradesh. Regardless of the outcome, Mumbai will be hosting the final as per the top position on the points table.
When MCA encountered a dilemma in selecting the venue between Wankhede and BKC, the players preferred the latter as all Mumbai home games have been hosted in the stadium except for the match against Uttar Pradesh.
MCA will be also considering the factors of the upcoming IPL 2024 which is set to commence on March 22. But the association has preferred Wankhede Stadium recognising the significance of the match.
Mumbai has an impressive record of clinching 41 titles out of 89 seasons played in the tournament with their last title coming from the 2015-16 season. The Stadium has hosted Ranji finals on 11 occasions.
Coming to the second semifinals, Vidharbha leads Madhya Pradesh by 261 runs by the end of day 03 at VCA Stadium.
