LSG vs RR 2024 Highlights: Rajasthan Royals registered their 8th victory in the IPL 2024 tournament against Lucknow Super Giants on April 27 at Ekana Sports City.
They remain in the top position of the IPL 2024 points table. Sanju Samson’s knock of 71 runs in the match helped the side secure a quick victory in the match. He was named as the Player of the Match.
While Speaking in the post-conference match, Sanju Samson said, Â “I am very lucky to be behind the wickets. There was some purchase with the new ball and then was a good wicket to bat on. The guys who came in and bowl one over in the power-play do an important job.”
“There has been a lot of planning behind the scenes. The start and the end of the innings was good. We gave away a few in the middle overs. The form is temporary in this format. We have seen Jurel in Tests.”
“We believe in him. He has been batting one hour and two hours at times in the nets. We have been doing really well. We have been a little lucky as well. We need to keep the process right. At the team meetings, we talk about ticking the processes. One game at a time for us,” concluded Samson.
Coming to the match, Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl. Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants scored 196 runs in 20 overs.
The Openers de Kock was sent out for 8 runs in the first over of the match itself, while KL Rahul scored 76 runs on 48 deliveries including 8 fours and 2 sixes. He was dismissed by Avesh Khan while Stoinis was sent on a duck.
Deepak Hooda joined hands with KL Rahul to score 50 runs on 31 deliveries. After Ashwin dismissed Hooda, Pooran was sent out with 11 runs by Sandeep Sharma.
Ayush Badoni and Krunal Pandya scored 18* and 15* runs to help the side set a target of 197 runs. Rajasthan Royals started their innings, where Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler opened for the side. Jaiswal scored 24 runs on 18 deliveries while Jos Buttler scored 34 runs on 18 deliveries.
With the dismissal of Buttler, Sanju Samson came to bat where he scored 71 runs on 33 deliveries including seven fours and 4 sixes. With the dismissal of Jaiswal scored 60 runs for 2 wickets in the seventh over.
Riyan Parag came to bat and Amit Mishra sent him back to the dugout for 14 runs Dhruv Jurel joined a partnership with Sanju Samson to smash an individual score of 52 runs on 43 deliveries.
With batting steadily, Dhruv Jurel and Sanju Samson formed a partnership score of 121 runs. With seven wickets remaining, Rajasthan Royals secured victory with 7 wickets difference with one over remaining.
