Ponting had agreed with Ashwin that a batsman is cheating if he tries to take undue advantage by backing up too much before the ball is delivered. However, the Delhi Capitals coach said he would want Ashwin to warn a batsman before Mankading which the off-spinner exactly did on Monday.

Kohli is not the first player to accidentally break the protocol as last week Rajasthan Royals’ Robin Uthappa was caught applying saliva on the ball against Kolkata Knight Riders.
KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant were the names that hold the top position in the replacement player names. After Indian former pacer Ashish Nehra, Brain Lara too throws his idea of Indian wicket-keeper replacement.

Suryakumar Yadav | MI: I felt it (a big knock) was coming in this game because in the last few games I was finding ways to get out. This time I just wanted to bat till the end. Loving the added responsibility at the top of the order, and I’ve just been told to play my game and express myself and I did just that.
The lockdown helped me with my off-side game rather than just my leg-side pick-up shot. The team winning is really satisfying and at that situation, I had to bat till the end to get the team to a perfect total, and then the bowlers came and finished things off.
Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) lead bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out of IPL 2020 due to hamstring injury. While bowling the 19th over of the match against CSK after bowling the first delivery Bhuvi left the pitch due to his inability to bowl.

It’s hard being on the losing side for so many games on the trot. We need to come back harder and better. There’s no rocket science where we are going wrong, it’s the execution.
When we started batting, the wicket did stop a bit and when the spinners came in there was some grip and turn. If we don’t get wickets of the class of Watson and du Plessis, we are in trouble.
It’s a bit hard to attack as a captain when they are going at 10 runs an over in the powerplay. They are all professional players, so we can expect them to come back better.
We need to keep training harder, practicing, and try to win the key moments in the game. Hopefully, we’ll be able to bounce back.

Did the small things right. Believed in the process. Were looking for the kind of start today. That’s where experience counts. It’s not about being more aggressive. Watson was looking good in the nets. But what you want is to replicate that.
It was just a matter of time that he gets going. Faf is like a sheet anchor for us. He can always confuse the bowlers with shots like the lap shot. They compliment each other well. Fleming doesn’t get the kind of recognition he should.
The good thing between us is that we decide each and everything between us. It’s not like we don’t have debates over selections. But it stays between us. Felt the bowlers did a very good job. Felt we bowled according to what our plan was.
Momentum with the right kind of shots – I felt Watto and Faf backed themselves to play the shots they’re known for. It was very good to watch them out there.

Nice to bat like that tonight. Felt something slightly off earlier in the tournament, technical thing. Bit more intent on the front leg, getting my weight through the ball.
We complement each other well. He’s a great guy, love batting with him. With so much experience and success the franchise’s had, they believe in the players. Never any panic stations with CSK. Just had to do a few things better.

Rohit Sharma | MI skipper: We will bat first. It has been our strength so we are going to back that. It is a good pitch and as long as you play good cricket, the toss doesn’t really matter. Yes, but to be honest the game against KKR was also a perfect game.
We put runs on the board and defended really well. We have a quality bowling line up which is why we back ourselves to come out and put runs on the board. We have seen a few games here, you have to believe and trust your instincts when you play in grounds like these.

I was not able to middle a lot of deliveries. Was trying to hit it too hard. When the wicket is slightly at the slower side, it is better to time it. Looking at the outfield it was subconsciously coming to us to hit the ball hard.
Tried to get as much as time as possible. It is quite dry out here. So, the throat gets dry and you start to cough. When you have legal signs, you can take some time off. Long time back once we lost three in a row. We need to get a lot of things right.
It is professionalism. We need to take our catches not bowl no-balls. Those are controllable and maybe we are getting too relaxed. We have been a bit too relaxed at times. After the 16th over, we had two good overs but overall we could have been slightly better.
Nobody wants to drop catches but at the same at this level, we need to draw a line and say these catches that need to be taken especially when the team hasn’t been doing that outstandingly well. Catches that these can hamper your knock out stage games. It is very important to be at your best. There are plenty of positives in this game but we will try to come back strong.

I backed him (Samad) – I had no option. We tried to kill the game in the 19th over. Could have given it to Abhishek, but Samad with his height had to bowl the last one.
This was a little better as compared to the last one. It was quite challenging, it’s good to see swing upfront. It’s my message to the youngsters, to go out there and score some runs.
These guys assessed the conditions and played well, so really really proud of them. These guys really work hard, they execute their yorkers, they execute their slower ones. These are the rewards we are getting, and hopefully, we get the momentum going forward.
