The Pakistan Cricket Board said that Imam will return home on Sunday. The southpaw sustained the injury during training sessions for the New Zealand series in Queenstown.

With Imam’s injury, Pakistan’s concern only gets bigger as earlier all-rounder Shadab Khan was ruled out of next month’s home series against South Africa after sustaining a thigh injury.

After the competition of the six-week period, the medical panel will access and evaluate the injury before making a call on Shadab’s return to competitive cricket,” Dr. Sohail Saleem of PCB said in a statement.

Times of Sports(TOS) listed the top controversial moments in cricket in the year of 2020. The year 2020 faces many obstacles in cricket history. Especially the much-expected IPL 2020 has moved to UAE and played between the September – November window.
Raina is the highest run-getter for CSK in the IPL. He cited personal reasons but speculations about coronavirus scare and a rift with captain MS Dhoni did not stop.
Gavaskar’s comment on Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma
The IPL 2020 saw Indian players return to cricket after the hiatus due to the pandemic. RCB skipper Virat Kohli’s form was not up to his usual level and commentator Sunil Gavaskar opined that the reason was not training enough.
He also brought Kohli’s wife actress Anushka Sharma in the comment, leading to a storm on the internet. Things escalated with Anushka publicly asking the veteran player to explain his side and Gavaskar giving out a statement.
Later in December 2020, Gavaskar slams BCCI for not allowing T Natarajan back home to see his newborn daughter while Virat permitted with Paternity leave. He also mentioned that BCCI flexes their rules according to the players.
Rohit Sharma fitness issue
This question plagued Indian fans ever since Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma came back to bat for his IPL side even after being left out of the squad for Australia.
This move confused fans as Sharma played fine in the tournament after sitting out for a couple of matches. There were rumours of disagreement between Sharma and Kohli as well.
Later Rohit Sharma clears his fitness and returns to Australia to play the 3rd Test match against Australia.

In the 1st AUS vs IND T20I, Ravindra Jadeja was batting great until he suffered from a concussion. Then in the second innings of the game, Team India decided to bring in Yuzvendra Chahal as Jadeja’s substitute.

Mushfiqur Rahim’s fighting Gesture
At the Bangabandhu T20 being played in Bangladesh, things took an unforeseen turn and was in the news for non-cricketing reasons.
The much-expected young gun Shaw fails to prove his worth in the 1st Test and replaced by Gill in the 2nd Test against Australia. Shaw struggles to lock his place in the playing XI.
Regarding this legendary batsman, Sachin Tendulkar claims that the backlift performed by Prithvi Shaw is the major reason for the ball is sneaking through his defenses.
“With Prithvi, I feel it’s the backlift,” Tendulkar said on his YouTube channel. “I feel his hands are moving away from his body, and then coming in. So, it’s a scoop, rather than a pendulum or a cradle, which goes in a straight line.
But what is happening because his hands are away and then he’s coming down it’s coming down straight but if the ball zips through the surface, that is when problems get created.”
Shaw has already witnessed the highs and lows of international cricket in his short career. He announced himself with a century on debut before being suspended for doping. Now he has been dropped from the
“It is not just to the balls coming in, but when a batsman is not playing well – I’m not talking only about Prithvi, it’s about any batter who’s not in good nick and has that kind of a backlift, because when you’re scooping, you don’t get the timing right and you edge the ball either on the outer side or the inside.
When you’re batting well, your timing is going to be right, but when you’re not, the straighter backlift helps,” Tendulkar explained.
Shaw’s flaw in 2nd Innings of the 1st Test
Providing further insight into what led to Shaw being bowled by Pat Cummins in the second innings in Adelaide, Tendulkar said it’s not just the movement of the body but also what’s going on in the mind at that moment that’s affecting the 20-year-old.
“In the second innings, I felt he was caught on the move. There were a number of batters who were caught on the move. They were late in playing the ball just a fraction. That can happen because there are so many things going on in your head.
Here, again if you see, because there were a lot of things going on in his mind, he was a fraction late on getting on the ball because if you notice, his foot was in the air in the second innings,” the most prolific run-getter in international cricket’s history said.
“People talk about footwork, but it’s not about the bowler body. Footwork is in your mind, your head. So, if you’re not thinking properly, your lower body is not going to follow instructions. When there are multiple things going on in your head, it is going to affect your footwork. It’s in the mind,” he added.

Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant with his behind-the-stump guidance helps Ashwin to dismiss Matthew Wade in the 2nd Test against Australia.
After the defeat in the 1st Test match against Australia India seeks its all possible way to make a victory in the second test match. Team India makes a number of changes in its squad for the second match.
One of the important factors that India misses is its skipper’s service as Virat has granted paternity leave by BCCI. In his absence, Rahane leads the side in the remaining Test matches against Australia.
Pant Guides Ashwin to dismiss Wade
Returning to the Indian Test team ahead of the 2nd Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Rishabh Pant replaced a struggling Wriddhiman Saha as the wicket-keeper and instantly had an impact on the match.
Pant, known for being extremely vocal from behind the wicket and trying to help his bowlers as much as possible, Pant gave some excellent advice to Ashwin to dismiss Australia opener Matthew Wade in the 13th over of the first innings of the 2nd Test.
Trying to make Ashwin feel a bit out of his skin early in his bowling spell, Wade smashed the spinner for a sweeping boundary on the fourth ball of his second over.
This is when Pant realised that the Australian batter was trying to do and gave his two cents on the scenario.
“Andar hi rakhna, ye maarega (keep it at the stumps, he will hit),” Pant’s voice was picked up on the stump mics and that’s exactly what happened on the delivery that followed.
Jadeja – Gill Collision
Trying to intimidate Ashwin with a back-to-back boundary, Wade walked down the pitch to swing for a big one but ended up not connecting properly and the ball flew towards the leg where Ravindra Jadeja managed to catch it despite the chances of miscommunication with Shubman Gill fielding nearby.
Inzamam-ul-Haq feels the sudden retirement of Mohammad Amir will have a negative impact on Pakistan cricket, adding that it was “unfortunate” that the left-arm pacer bid adieu to the sport as he was “unhappy with one person”.
Amir, who played 36 Tests, 61 ODIs, and 50 T20Is in which he scalped a total of 259 wickets, recently announced his retirement from international cricket after reservations with Pakistan team management.
Inzamam-ul-Haq unhappy for the retirement of Mohammad Amir
“Amir is a good player and his absence has affected the side. But we have other bowlers as well, who are doing well. Such incidents should not take place in Pakistan cricket and this is more important for me as compared to how it affects our bowling strength.
A player should not leave cricket in such a manner, after having served Pakistan cricket, as it doesn’t look good,” Inzamam was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
“If Amir had any issues with Waqar (Younis), he should have talked with Misbah (ul Haq) and if that didn’t work he should have approached the PCB. If the issue remained after this, then he had the right to take such a decision. It’s unfortunate to see a player retire just because he was unhappy with one person,” the former Pakistan captain and current PCB chief selector added.
Amir – Mentally tortured?
Amir, 28, alleged that he had been “mentally tortured” and didn’t want to continue playing under the current PCB management.
“I don’t think I can play cricket under this management. I am leaving cricket, for now, and I am being mentally tortured. Cannot handle it and I have seen it enough from 2010-2015. I have to repeatedly hear that PCB invested a lot in me.
However, it is not the case. I am thankful to Shahid Afridi as he gave me chances when I came back after the ban and will also thank Najam Sethi (former PCB chairman),” Amir had said in a video.
Amir was part of the Pakistan squad that won the T20 World Cup in 2009 and was also part of the squad that won the Champions Trophy in 2017.
However, his career faced a downward spiral when he was banned for five years for his involvement in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal during the tour of England.
After serving his five-year ban, he returned to international cricket in 2015 and made his Test return in 2016. Amir, in 2018, called time on his Test career to focus entirely on white-ball cricket.

The bowling attack, to be led by Unadkat, also has left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya and slow-left arm orthodox bowler Dharmendrasinh Jadeja.
The tournament begins from January 10. Saurashtra is placed in Elite Group D along with Services, Vidarbha, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. The league matches will be played at Indore.
The former India opener Murali Vijay pulls out of the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and will miss the entire domestic season.
“He informed us that he would be skipping the upcoming season for personal reasons. He did not mention anything further,” a TNCA official told.
Vijay last played for Tamil Nadu during their Ranji Trophy clash against Karnataka at Dindigul in 2019. Murali had featured in three matches for the Chennai Super Kings during the IPL-13.
Vijay was earlier named in the state probables for the domestic T20 competition. TNCA has included opener L Suryapprakash in place of Vijay.
“It is a very big blow for us ahead of the season because he is an experienced campaigner and brings solidity at the top.
But his absence gives other players an opportunity to make an impact for the stateside,” said the official.
Dhoni though will continue to play in the IPL which he announced himself before CSK’s final game of the season last month.
Dhoni continues to play for CSK in IPL 2021
Former New Zealand cricketer and commentator Danny Morrison had asked Dhoni whether he would be donning the yellow jersey again or not before their final match. The skipper nonchalantly responded to the question and said ‘definitely not’ when asked if this was his last game for the franchise.
CSK was knocked out in the league stage this year after enduring their worst season in the IPL, which saw them finish 7th with just 6 wins from 14 games.
Dhoni was in fact keen to play the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament earlier this year to prepare for IPL 2020. But the Indian domestic season 2020-21 was postponed indefinitely in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The much-delayed tournament will now kick start the Indian domestic season and will be played from January 10 to 31 in six different states where bio-secure hubs will be created.
Raina confirmed to play in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
Former India cricketer Suresh Raina meanwhile, announced on social media last week that he will be representing Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. Raina had retired on the same day as Dhoni. But he missed playing in the IPL for CSK due to “personal reasons”.
Raina hasn’t played competitive cricket for the past one year. And he has been training hard in the gym and keeping himself fit for the upcoming domestic season in India.
