Then you say he needs to work hard! Same things were said about Wasim Jaffer when you look at his aura when he used to run very relaxedly when he used to bat he had a lot of time and we used to think — why isn’t he working hard — but actually, he was working hard.
“Similarly with Rohit, from outside we used to think he might need to work harder, he might need to put more application. Whenever you talk to Rohit Sharma, he used to always talk about sensible things, he used to always talk about working hard and he used to always talk about the team first as well, that is why you see some of the results he got at the captain of the Mumbai Indians team. He got the beating of not playing the World Cup and then came back really hard because of a strong mindset after 2012.”
Former teammate Robin Uthappa had also recently praised Rohit and said: “When I look at Rohit, I feel he has got eternity to play a ball. It just baffles you like where does he create that time. It’s amazing to watch and so effortless. He has always done well in India and abroad. In white-ball cricket, he dominates the scene right now. He is arguably one of the best batsmen in the world.
“Given that situation, he must be going through a huge surge in confidence. He has reached a point in his career where he understands his batting well and he knows what works for him and how to approach him. I think he has figured out opening the batting and this opportunity came at the right moment for Rohit to capitalise on it. So it’s not a surprise that he is successful.”

Even though MS Dhoni hasn’t been in real life for a year given a purposeful rest, the gestures of recognition for the previous India skipper don’t appear halting at any point shortly after Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi hailed his impact on the game and portrayed as “a great human being”.
The 38-year-old rose to distinction at first with his capacity hitting in white-ball cricket in 2004, and in the wake of improving as a wicketkeeper, he turned into a backbone in each of the three configurations for India. Under his captaincy, India won every one of the three significant ICC titles – 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup, and 2013 Champions Trophy, attributable to his cool and formed nature.
Aside from cutting out a legend status for him with his exhibitions and on-field height, the Jharkhand dasher additionally helped the professions of any semblance of current skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Suresh Raina, Ravichandran Ashwin and so forth.
In a recent interaction with Anis Sajan, previous Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi uncovered how Dhoni even affected him.
“MS Dhoni is the best… calm and a great human being. The doors of his room are open 24/7 for everyone where he has tea with people and talks to them. I have met him 2-3 times and he is really a nice man,”said Nabi.

This day in 1999 was an uncommon one for the Indian women’s cricket team. Two adolescents who were making their introduction pummeled tons against Ireland and carved their names everlastingly ever. These players were Mithali Raj and Reshma Gandhi.
Batting first, India scored 258/0 in their assigned 50 overs, and both the openers crushed unbeaten centuries. In a total strength, they didn’t permit any opportunity to break the partnership and continued ahead smoothly.
Ireland bowlers, however, didn’t look over the top expensive, yet were insufficient against the two openers and had no responses for 16-year-old Raj. The best bowling figures were from M.Grealey, who parted with 38 runs in her portion of overs.
Come to the subsequent innings, India indicated the matchless quality over the minnows indeed. They were confined to 97/9 out of 50 overs. Purnima Rau was the pick of the bowlers who came back with figures of 4/33. She was capably bolstered by Rupanjali Shastri, who packed away two wickets for nine runs.
India dominated the game serenely by 161 runs. This triumph additionally began a period in Indian ladies’ cricket, that would change whole socioeconomics of the game in the nation.
Mithali Raj Best innings ever :
In 2005, Mithali was appointed as the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team. So far, Mithali has appeared in 89 T20Is, 209 ODIs and 10 Tests for India, amassing a total of 9,951 runs in it.

She is also the first player to score seven half-centuries in a row besides also holding the record of scoring most fifties in the format.
Mithalu is also the only player to have led India in more than one ICC ODI World Cup final–leading the side in 2005 and 2017.
Team India at present has outstanding amongst other bowling assaults on the world and Bhuvneshwar Kumar accepts that one of the explanations behind the accomplishment of the pace battery is the relationship they share which implies they don’t have to impart a lot of while assaulting the restriction batting line-up.
“It doesn’t matter who is bowling from the other end. Because I have to do what I have to do. But since both Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah are senior players, in a few words we can communicate with each other what the batsman is trying to do. It is like our bowling partnership. We don’t have to tell each other much. We make a conscious effort to bowl well and maintain the pressure from both ends,”he said in the second episode of ESPNcricinfo Cricketbaazi.
Statics show that Bhuvneshwar has a superior strike rate and a superior economy rate when bowling second when contrasted with bowling first in ODIs. Bhuvnenshwar thinks it is subliminal and not an inclination. “Subconsciously you tend to go into a defensive mode bowling second.
It’s not like you don’t want to pick wickets, but the mindset is defensive. Your length remains the same, your run-up is the same, but somewhere I feel it’s all about the field position. I feel defending or attacking depends on your field placement. If you want to attack, you’ll have slips in place. If not, then you’ll have a sweeper cover. So that impacts the mindset.
“I think it’s subconscious. Like how a batsman knows the target while chasing along with the balls and wickets remaining, somewhere for a bowler also he knows when the opposition is chasing 350, the batsmen will take chances against you, so you try to bowl more variations to deceive the batsmen, and from the first ball, your mindset is clear that you have to defend the target.
Sometimes it happens that you’ve been dismissed for a score of under 200, and as a bowler, you know you have to go for wickets. The mindset is different then as you have to bowl to pick wickets, and the captain and management know as well that this is the plan and it’s all right if a few runs are leaked in the process.”
Commenting on his debut, Bhuvneshwar said: “My India debut was in the T20I series against Pakistan, just before the ODIs. When I got to know that I was playing the next day, contrary to the sleeplessness that others go through, I slept very well.
I don’t know how, but I slept well. But when I woke up the next morning, I felt nervous. It was a night match, so I could feel the anxiety for 5-6 hours that I had after waking up until the start of the game.
There so many thoughts. But once I entered the field, it felt very normal. I also motivated myself by repeating that I have played so much of first-class cricket over the years and have also observed the players from Uttar Pradesh who have played for India. And it helped.”
Talking about the 2014 tour of England, Bhuvi said: “I was confident that will get assistance to swing the ball. And my confidence gets a boost whenever that happens because I have done that all my life. Before that series, I had played about 11 to 12 Tests, and all of them were in India. Give the conditions in India, I didn’t get to bowl much in those games.
So somewhere I was excited that I would be ”tested” over five days of cricket and do what I had done for so many years in first-class cricket. I was nervous as well. But like I said earlier, if a few of your initial deliveries go well, your confidence gets a boost. And in that series, the first couple of matches were very good from my performance perspective.”
The tag of a ”swing bowler” never bothered Bhuvneshwar. “This tag was associated with me for about two years when my pace was not that much. It was slightly lesser than what was considered decent for an international bowler. But I was able to get more swing because of this. Everyone has a strength as a player and I realized that swing is my strength.” He adds, “Although, I wanted to increase my pace, not at the cost of my ability to swing. And the process to increase your pace is to pay attention to your fitness, train harder in the gym, which I did. I tweaked my workout along with the team”s new trainer. This training was different and helped me increase my pace. And that”s when my body also adapted and helped in the process.”
Jasprit Bumrah Vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar Vs Mohammad Shami Comparison
Fast bowlers have a different mindset as against swing bowlers, so did the increase in pace change his mindset too. Bhuvneshwar says, “In 2015, in the series against South Africa in India, I realized that my pace had increased. I usually bowled at 130-132 kmph on an average, but in that series, it went up to 137-138 kmph. And for me, it was a big shift. But I never went with a mindset that I have to bounce the batsmen out.” He adds, “I struggled a bit in that series because I was doing something which wasn’t my strength. Not because I had started bowling very fast, but my body made me realize that I was bowling fast. I thought it was decent enough pace to get the ball to swing and after the series, I worked on it. Luckily, I was aware of my strength getting the ball to swing and gradually, at 135-138 kmph, I was able to get the desired swing which helped me gain confidence.”
Talking about the current situation and how is he keeping himself motivated, Bhuvneshwar says, “I was very motivated for the first 15 days of the lockdown. No one knew how long it would last and I didn’t have any equipment to exercise at home either. We thought things would get better in a couple of months. I did bodyweight workouts to keep myself fit. But after 15 days, I started finding it difficult to motivate myself. I then ordered equipment at home and things have improved since. We, or I rather, generally give excuses that I don’t have enough time to improve my fitness. Even after the lockdown, if I give the same excuse, others will say that I only give excuses. So, I am working on coming out of this lockdown as a better version of myself. On-field performance is different, but I can work on my fitness, or my athletic ability, or gaining more strength. I have almost stopped playing PubG but I still play PlayStation with my friends,” he added.
