The India tour of Australia, scheduled for the end of this year, will begin with a white-ball series before the Test matches take place.

    India tour of Australia

A full series in Australia usually begins with the Test series before the ODI and T20I matches are played, thus representing a break in tradition for Cricket Australia.

    Test Match Venues

“The tour will commence with a white-ball component before the four-Test series, at this stage, begins in Adelaide on December 17-21. Other venues include Melbourne (December 26-30), Sydney (January 7-11), and Brisbane (January 15-19),” says a report in The Australian.

CA chief Earl Eddings also put to rest any lingering doubts over the tour being potentially called off, saying he has been in touch with BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and knows the matches will take place.

“I’m 100 percent confident they are coming. Sourav Ganguly and I talk about it most days and we are already planning when we can catch up once he and the team get over here,” the paper quoted Eddings as saying.

The report also added that Virat Kohli and co. will land in Brisbane instead of Perth or Adelaide and will not face much strictness in terms of quarantine time despite the state of Queensland currently seeing severe restrictions.

    Tim Paine’s View

Meanwhile, Australia Test skipper Tim Paine rejected apprehensions that the IPL stints of team’s star players — such as batting mainstay Steve Smith and pacer Pat Cummins — would leave them under-prepared for the eagerly-awaited red-ball series against India in December.

Former skipper Smith, opener David Warner and top fast bowlers Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and James Pattinson are currently playing for different teams in the 13th edition of IPL in UAE.

The IPL will conclude on November 10, while a four-round block of Australia’s domestic Sheffield Shield gets underway in Adelaide this weekend, with the final game of the block between New South Wales and Victoria starting November 17.

Paine feels it is unlikely that the IPL players will get enough time to participate in Shield cricket ahead of the India series with a mandatory 14-day quarantine rule in place for international arrivals in Australia due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I wouldn’t have thought so, with restrictions coming back into the country,” he was quoted as saying on Tuesday by 7news.com.au.

Ajit Agarkar Predicts the Teams That Enters to IPL 2020 Play-offs

Indian former cricketer Ajit Agarkar predicts the possible teams to enter into the play-off in IPL 2020. According to the IPL points table rule, the top four positioned teams would enter the playoff.

According to the point table rules, each team would get 2 points while winning the match. While the tournament is in its halfway Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Kolkata Knight Riders hold the top four positions in the IPL 2020 points table.

Ajit Agarkar Predicts teams to enter the playoff

Ajit Agarkar makes the prediction on the basis of the players form and mental strength while playing the matches. Agarkar points out that the top three teams in the points table would get into the playoffs as they sealed the safest position.

“It’s such a close tournament, so many ups, and downs, but clearly Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals look like the two best teams – form-wise and personnel-wise. KKR, in my opinion, got a real bonus win against CSK. They are my third team,” Agarkar said in the Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected.’

According to Agarkar, the fourth team to enter the final four will be either Rajasthan Royals or Sunrisers Hyderabad. “The fourth team for me is between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. I had CSK at the start of the tournament, but at the moment, these two teams look slightly better than what CSK is playing.

IPL teams fight to make it to the playoff

The fight to enter the playoff is still in heat as still there are chances for the last 3 teams of the points table to make into the playoff. Earlier the magic has been done by Dhoni-led CSK in IPL 2010 where CSK made it to playoff while at the same position as of now.

Though things were not in favour of CSK as they lose two key players before the beginning of the tournament CSK would bounce back to survive. CSK had a record of entering the playoff in every IPL it played so far.

Virat Kohli, KL Rahul Suggests Unique Rules to Add in DRS

Indian skipper Virat Kohli who currently leads RCB in IPL 2020 suggests that DRS should be used to review wides and no-balls for high full-tosses too. Kohli suggests this after the controversial moment happened in SRH vs CSK match. After this many accept and some reject the decision of the on-field umpire.

Virat and KL Rahul Live Interaction

Virat Kohli had a fun Instagram live chat with KL Rahul who is one of his teammates of the Indian cricket team. While the chat both cricketers made a conversation regarding the changes that need to introduce in the DRS(Decision Review System).

    Virat Kohli’s Suggestion

“I am going to speak as a captain. As a captain, I would like to have the ability to review a wide, which could be a wrong call, or a waist-high full-toss, which could be a wrong call.

“We have seen this historically how big these things can be in such a high-profile tournament like IPL and in general T20 cricket,” Kohli said during an Instagram Live chat with his India team-mate, KL Rahul.

“It is a fast-paced game and you can miss a small margin and we have all seen this is a big factor. If you lose the game by a run and you are not able to review that wide, it could make a massive difference in someone’s campaign,” he added.

    KL Rahul Reply

Replying to this KL Rahul makes a unique suggestion to add in ICC rules. Rahul also sounded similar feelings and said, “If that rule comes in, it is very good. You can give a team two reviews and say you can use it for whatever.”

As per the current rules of ICC, teams are allowed only one review per innings in T20 games, including in the Indian Premier League.

Asked if there were any other changes he would like to see in the rules which are currently in place, Rahul said, “If someone hits a six over 100 meters, it should be given more runs. I will ask my bowlers about this.”

    Shreyas Iyer | DC skipper

We will bat first. It’s been dry and like we saw the other games, it’s holding a bit. We want to approach every game positively and we got a really good bowling attack to execute our plans. We got good back-ups who can come and perform, we are definitely missing him (Pant). We got one chance. Tushar Deshpande is making his debut for us and he comes in for Harshal Patel.

    Steve Smith | RR skipper

I was gonna bat as well. Hopefully, we can bowl well, restrict them, and chase it later on. It’s obviously a used wicket and hopefully, we will put some pressure with the ball. We are playing with the same team. And yes, Ben (Stokes) will open again.

    Playing XI

    Delhi Capitals(DC)

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer(c), Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey(w), Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Tushar Deshpande, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje.

    Rajasthan Royals(RR)

Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler(w), Steven Smith(c), Sanju Samson, Robin Uthappa, Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Jaydev Unadkat, Kartik Tyagi.

    DC vs RR Highlights

    Delhi Capitals(DC) Batting

Prithvi Shaw and Dhawan get in to the crease to lead DC. Jofra Archer dismissed Shaw off the first delivery and makes a shocking moment for DC. Ajinkya Rahane gets in to join hands with Dhawan.

Archer with a length ball off his second over dismissed the struggled Rahane while scoring 2 runs off 9 deliveries. With back-to-back wickets, DC seems to get in trouble but Dhawan is in strike who is capable of dragging the team towards a perfect score.

DC skipper Iyer and Dhawan drags the team as expected where Dhawan makes his half-century in just 30 balls. A much needed fifty for DC at this position. After a massive six Dhawan walks to Pavillion after scoring 57 runs off 33 deliveries.

With Stokes and Samson’s impressive innings RR scored 85 runs for 2 wicket loss at the end of the 10th over. In the next over Tushar Deshpande dismissed Stokes and followed by Samson’s dismissal by Axar makes a huge blow for RR.

Still, RR has the game-changer Rahul Tewatia in the strike. With an impressive death over from DC, RR restricted to score only 148 runs for 8 wicket loss. Delhi Capitals(DC) beat Rajasthan Royals(RR) by 13 runs.

    Man of the Match

Anrich Nortje: Been feeling it the last few days. Nice to see some results. Buttler played them really well. Maybe I was a touch too full. Didn’t expect him to go for a six first ball. Maybe he was expecting something else of that delivery. Stuck to my strength and paid off.

Didn’t expect the second ramp. Luckily I stuck to it. We’ve got a good coach in Ryan. Lovely working with KG. Tushar has been working in the nets. Enjoying my experience with them. Doesn’t look like it but it’s nerve-wracking. Better to be on the field than on the other side.

WIDE or NOT? Dhoni Clash With On-field Umpire in Match Against SRH

Dhoni makes an angry gesture while on field umpire Paul Reiffel attempts to signal a wide.

In the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad MS Dhoni makes a controversy move against the on-field umpire. It was the final moment of the match which is a much-needed victory for CSK to survive in this tournament.

    Dhoni Umpire Clash

Shardul Thakur bowls the 19th over of the innings. where he loses a two-run of the first delivery followed by a wide off the second delivery again followed by another wide delivery. The second wide delivery gets into the controversy as both bowler and wicketkeeper MS Dhoni makes a shot against the umpire decision.

On-field umpire Paul Reiffel raises his hand to signal the delivery as wide but captain cool makes an angry gesture after which the umpire lowers his hand. Netizens get into the conversation about the umpire’s decision change.

Many criticise MS Dhoni as they believe that Dhoni’s rage makes the umpire to change his decision. While some believe that MS Dhoni did that correct by stopping the umpire from giving the wide decision. Because once the umpire gave a decision he has no authority to call back the decision apart from appealing for wickets.

Opposition captain David Warner was seen gesturing angrily from the dugout as Reiffel seemed to have a change of mind.

    Umpire’s decision rule

According to the IPL playing conditions in the category of the umpire’s decision, it states, “An umpire may alter any decision provided that such alteration is made promptly. This apart, an umpire’s decision, once made, is final.”

If one looks at the replay, umpire Reiffel did NOT actually signal a wide and then change his decision. MS Dhoni protested just about at the right time and ensured that umpire Reiffel did not signal the wide and instead, left it half-way.

The controversial decision might not have played a big part in the outcome of the match. With the win, CSK goes to the sixth spot in the points table.

SRH has suffered another loss and it puts them in danger of not qualifying for the knockouts.

    MS Dhoni | CSK skipper

We’re batting first. Yes, for a change. Last few games we wanted to bat first, but never got the opportunity. The thing with stats is that you can get it any way you want to. It’s a process and it’s quicker if the guys buy into it, and follow the process.

As I said, each game will have new problems. Today it will be about how we counter the shorter boundary one on the side. Cricket is very close to life and it doesn’t always go the way you want. It teaches you what you want to follow as a process.

2010 ended on a happy note but we can’t just rely on that. One change – Chawla in for Jagadeesan. We thought about him (Tahir) but the combination isn’t letting us.

    David Warner | SRH skipper

Yes, that’s probably how everybody is going around these days. Interested to see how the wicket is going to play. There is a bigger boundary on one side and needs to make the batters play there.

The easiest thing to do is to forget about it (the previous loss). I’m really enjoying it (captaincy) and having Kane also helps. Really enjoyed the group that we have. One change – Nadeem in for Abhishek Sharma.

Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni(w/c), Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, Dwayne Bravo, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Piyush Chawla, Karn Sharma.

An unexpected move from CSK as they changed the opening duo. Faf du Plessis and Sam Curran get in to lead CSK. CSK skipper MS Dhoni in the previous match hints that they would seek for big shots from the very beginning of the innings. Which may lead to introduce Sam in the opening.

The young gun of CSK shows an impressive start by making massive shots though his opening partner Faf departs without scoring any. With back to back boundaries and sixes, Sam Curran scored 31 runs from 21 deliveries and dismissed by Sandeep Sharma.

Rayudu and Watson join hands and lead CSK. The duo makes an impressive and much-needed partnership and pumps CSK score beyond 100. Finally, Khaleel makes the breakthrough by dismissing Rayudu while scoring 41 runs. Watto too got dismissed off the very next over after scoring 42 runs.

    Watson Rayudu

The famous duo of CSK gets in to the crease. Yes! it’s Dhoni and Jaddu on the crease. Soon MSD departs after striking a couple of boundaries along with a massive six. T Natarajan took his dream wicket by dismissing MSD while scoring 21 runs.

Still, Jaddu is in the strike which means there is still a chance for some boundaries. With a boundary and six of the final delivery, CSK scored 167 runs for 6 wicket loss.

    Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) Batting

David Warner and Bairstow gets in to lead SRH to chase down the target of 168 runs. CSK followed a different strategy in bowling. This helps Sam Curran to dismiss the dangerous batsman Warner for just 9 runs.

Manish Pandey gets in to the crease and makes a boundary of the first delivery. While trying to run between wickets Bravo dismissed Manish by a direct throw. It’s Bravo who threw the ball towards the stump before the umpire’s confirmation Manish starts to walk towards Pavillion after scoring 4 runs.

Two wickets within the powerplay make a comfortable position for CSK in terms of bowling. SRH is in need to build a much-needed partnership as CSK did after the powerplay. Kane Williamson starts to make a steady strike which threatens CSK bowlers. Though Kane stands strong for a while CSK bowlers dismissed his partners and avoid building the partnership.

    Kane Williamson Fifty

Finally, Karn Sharma took the dangerous man wicket while scoring 57 runs. If Kane stands still the last over there could be a greater chance for SRH victory. CSK bowlers are very focused to not let SRH to massive runs in the death overs.

Rashid who seems to be the game-changer dismissed by hit-wicket after striking a boundary and six. Bravo makes an impressive final over where SRH scored only one run from it. Finally CSK bags their third victory of the tournament by beating SRH by 20 runs.

    Man of the Match

Ravindra Jadeja | CSK: Very happy to contribute with both bat and ball. I was backing myself and I was only looking to see the ball and hit the ball without pre-planning. The wicket looks on the slower side so I was just looking to bowl into the stumps rather than give them room.

It is a difficult wicket for batsmen. I take great pleasure in my fielding, and whenever I field, I always look for a good run-out or a catch for the team.

    IPL 2020 Mid-Season Transfer – Top 5 Expected Players

List of big players names in mid season transfer list
List of big players names in mid season transfer list

The mid-season transfer has begun after the RCB vs KKR match as it completes seven individual matches for each team. Many players name has been enrolled under the list of mid-season transfer players for IPL 2020.

In the mid of the tournament, every IPL franchise is in need to pick the best players for them in order to make it to the play-off. Especially a team like CSK who is in need of a player to replace in the middle order should get use of this.

Big transfer expected in Mid-season transfer

Many big shot players name hits the list of players for mid-season transfer. Though BCCI approves to loan the capped players of the IPL 2020 but explains a list of rules for the mid-season transfer players.

    Ajinkya Rahane

With the experience and quality of Rahane, it is not justified that he has played just one match in this season for the Capitals. With sides like Chennai suffering from the form in the tournament and in Suresh Raina’s absence, Rahane could be roped in by CSK.

    Chris Lynn

The Australian has been a phenomenal T20 cricketer and a pivotal part of the Kolkata franchise. With Kolkata not finding a stable opening pair at the top, Lynn could be brought back by the Knights for the remainder of the season.

    Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman

The mystery spinner would be an asset for any side but unfortunately has played merely one game this season thus far. Franchises could be interesting in the mystery spinner.

    Chris Gayle

How can one leave out Gayle in T20 cricket? But, Kings XI Punjab has done it. Gayle has not played a single match this season. As KXIP openers – KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal – have been in top form. Gayle with tons of records in IPL could be a game-changer for any franchise.

    Oshane Thomas

The fiery pacer has not been used by the Rajasthan Royals. He could go to another franchise if they are looking for a tearaway pacer at the top. Hyderabad could be one of the sides interested in him.

Dinesh Karthik | KKR skipper – I’m happy to have lost the toss, might have batted first as well. It’s important that the bowlers believe in themselves as it happened in the KXIP match where they dominated us for almost 39 overs. Banton is a special player, he’s a superstar in the making, he replaces Sunil Narine.

Virat Kohli | RCB skipper – We will bat first. A high scoring ground, the pitch might become slower and slower – scores are coming down in the last couple of games. There’s no grass on the surface, so it can get scuffed up.

We’re confident in our bowling, it’s important to execute our plans, Chris Morris was a huge plus. We have spoken about partnerships, a good start will help us more. One change – Siraj comes in for Mann, gives us an extra bowling option on a small ground like this.

    Man of the Match

    Ab de Villiers | RCB

Very happy with the performance. Got a duck in the last game, a terrible feeling. Very happy that I contributed. Surprised myself out there tonight. Knew the wicket was quite tough to bat on. But I thought 145-150 wasn’t enough.

So I looked to go further and was surprised to get 195. They’ve got a really good bowling attack. The margins are small and you have to use every bit of energy. As Virat said there was a light in my eye, felt it in the bus itself. Always enjoyed taking the gloves.

Very excited about it, I must say. I do bounce off ideas with Virat. As a keeper, you have a really good view of the pace of the game. Different skills completely. It depends. Have worked really hard with the gloves. Want to be the best I could, that’s always been my attitude.
