Rohit and de Kock get in to the crease to lead MI. While Sandeep Sharma opens the attack against MI. MI is in need to win the match in order to eliminate SRH from the IPL 2020. Sandeep Sharma dismissed Rohit Sharma in his second over and scatters the dream of Hitman’s man.

Rohit plays the match after missing five league matches before this. Sandeep again in his third over dismissed the aggressive de Kock and makes a massive blow for MI. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav gets in to join hands to build the much-needed partnership.

At the end of the powerplay, MI scored 48 runs for 2 wicket loss. SRH is in need to break this partnership in order to restrict MI from scoring big. SRH’s magical spinner Rashid Khan struggles to make wickets and to control runs. As a result, MI scored 78 runs for 2 wicket loss at the end of the 10th over.

Shahbaz Nadeem in the 12th over dismissed Suryakumar Yadav and Krunal Pandya in the same over and set a massive blow for MI. Rashid Khan in the next over finds his mojo by dismissing Saurabh Tiwary for 1 run.

MI’s most dangerous batsman Pollard gets in to the crease. SRH is in pressure to dismiss Pollard who is capable of pumping score to a greater extend. Sandeep Sharma on the other hand dismissed Ishan Kissan in his last over.

MI misses the well-settled batsman in the death over. Pollard hits a massive hat-trick sixes of the 19th over bowled by T Natarajan and drags MI score to 139 runs for 7 wicket loss at the end of the over.

SRH needs to dismiss Pollard in order to avoid an expensive last over. As expected Holder dismissed Pollard after striking a six and restrict MI score to 149 runs for 8 wicket loss.

Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) Batting

David Warner and Saha get in to lead the SRH to chase down the target of 149 runs. SRH must win the match in order to enter the playoff. Warner takes the responsibility for the chase and makes a slow start.

On the other hand Saha in the second over strikes back to back six and boundary which shows how SRH strives for big shots. In addition to this Warner strikes a hat-trick boundaries of the 4th over and the duo continuous to strike back to back boundaries and sixes.

This leads SRH score to 56 runs for no wicket loss at the end of the powerplay. MI is in need to dismiss the partnership in order to slow down the SRH’s run rate. MI tries it best to dismiss the Warner – Saha but fails each time.

(On playing only his fifth match of the season) I have been playing like this for the last couple of years. It is important that whenever you get your chances you need to give your 100% and that’s what came out today.

I have been working on the carrom ball for a couple of years and I thought it was the right time to bowl it because they have a lot of left-handers in their side. The round arm delivery doesn’t bounce much, but it also depends where it pitches – if it pitches on the leather it stays low and if it pitches on the seam it bounces extra.

Today I was looking to get it to skid from the leather. Contributing to the team boosts you. Everyone has been contributing and my job is to fit in. This is a very small ground but the pitches are turning slower, so as a spinner if you pitch it in the right areas, it does work.

Ganguly updates on Rohit and Ishant return for India tour of Australia

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly confirmes that Ishant and Rohit Sharma would get part in Australia tour if they are fit enough. India has scheduled to play 3 ODIs, 3 T20I, and 4 Test matches against Australia.

After Mumbai Indians release Rohit’s in net session video BCCI made an announcement that Rohit will be included if he backs in fit and form.

At some stage, if he is fit, I am sure the selectors will rethink his position.” Should they get fit, a flight will be arranged to send them to Australia, the former India captain confirmed.

The tour will start with an ODI series followed by T20Is. The Tests start from December 17 with the first being a day-night competition, a first between India and Australia. India played their maiden pink-ball Test last year at home against Bangladesh right after Ganguly became BCCI president.

The Indian cricketers were apprehensive of playing under the lights but the historic Test changed their mindset. “They played with it in India. They will be fine, don’t worry. Players got used to the white ball and ultimately they will be fine with the pink ball too. There will be a tough phase in the day, but they will get used to it. The white ball is also not easy to sight during twilight, but players have got used to it, we will see that happen here too,” Ganguly said.

He also feels that despite the return of their experienced batsmen Steve Smith and David Warner and the emerging Marnus Labuschagne, India are still capable of winning the four-match series against Australia.

“Australia in Australia is always tough. They will be a lot stronger with Smith and Warner back. Players like Labuschagne have become better. It will be a good test for India, but they are capable of winning. It will be a good series,” he said.

Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) skipper Virat Kohli expressed his feeling about his team who make it to the IPL 2020 playoff.

In the match against Delhi Capitals, RCB is in pressure to keep their run rate ahead of KKR to qualify for the playoff.

DC would need to score at least 134 runs if they lose today to keep their NRR ahead of KKR.

Virat Kohli felt happy on entering the playoff

At the post-match show, Kohli admitted that going into the decisive IPL game against Delhi Capitals (DC) the “mindset was a little bit tentative”.

“We are happy that we`ve qualified. The top two would`ve been really very nice. But I think we`ve played good enough cricket to earn a qualification spot. You could say just before the qualification, the mindset was a little bit tentative. We have a shot, an opportunity and that`s all we want as a team,” Kohli said after the game.

“I`m sure the guys will be excited about what`s ahead for us. We can be more brave with the bat in pockets. With the ball, we were decent, probably we could have a strong powerplay, which is our strength. If we implement those things, we`ll be at the right end of the result. It`s important to stay positive,” he said.

“There are going to be learning along the way, but we are glad that we are through. We`ll have to assess what`s happening. Hopefully, they`ll [Chris Morris] and [Navdeep Saini] be fine by the time we play our next game. And see how they go in the next few days,” said Kohli, looking ahead.

Kapil Dev advice to Dhoni

After hearing this not only Dhoni’s fan many former cricketers felt happy regarding his decision. Earlier Sunil Gavaskar advice Dhoni to follow some steps in order to retain his form back.

Now former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev advice Dhoni to play a lot more in the domestic circuit to get his form back.

“If Dhoni decides on playing only IPL every year, then it’s impossible for him to perform. It’s not a good thing to talk about age but at his age (39 years), the more he plays, the more his body will be tuned,” Kapil told ‘ABP News’.

“If you don’t play any cricket for 10 months a year and suddenly play IPL, you can see what happened. You can always have a season up or down if you have played so much cricket. It has happened to someone like Chris Gayle also,” the World Cup-winning former skipper said.

Kapil feels that it’s high time that Dhoni plays some domestic cricket this season.

“He should go back to first-class cricket (domestic List A and T20) and play there.” The straight-talking former all-rounder made it clear that it will be a challenge for Dhoni given that he has already indicated that he is “definitely not” retiring from the IPL.

“If someone has achieved so much, the dip in form does affect and it becomes a challenge. Let’s see how he comes out of it,” Kapil said.

It’s a complicated situation to be in but IPL is such an amazing tournament to be in, it can surprise you any moment, I personally feel this is a great opportunity for us to get into second place. We will keep those things in mind and go in with that mindset.

We have a couple of changes. Gurkeerat Mann misses out, Dube comes in to provide some firepower in the middle. Shahbaz Ahmed comes in for Saini. His webbing is still not right and he was struggling in the field.

It is simple you try and win every game of cricket you play. The conversation never changes and you don’t take any game lightly. But this being a crunch game, not a bad thing to be batting first and putting runs on the board, we would have liked to bowl as well.

Pressure in big games can be a funny thing. Whatever total you get the other team has to chase it. We have to play good cricket, consistently we have done well, we have had a few bad games which is acceptable and in a tournament like this it is competitive, but we still have good spirits as a side and looking forward to this encounter today.

I said it time and time again, it’s just doing the basics right and wasn’t about something special from one guy. Coming into this game, small things started feeling better and I think those small things, once you get that right, you get your rhythm.

We were thinking to make them hit to the bigger boundary and stick to our plans against each batsmen. There was little bit dew at the end of our innings and we tried not to be predictable.

Yorker would have been the obvious option and we wanted to change it and see how it goes and wanted to hit the hard length. Having a bit of extra pace always helps. All ready for the playoffs (smiles).

Watson spill his retirement news earlier

Earlier, the Times of India reported that Watson had told his teammates that he would be hanging his boots from all formats of the game. Watson, 39, reportedly made the statement after CSK beat Kings XI Punjab in their last league game of IPL 2020.

“Watson was very emotional when he told the CSK dressing room after the last game that he would retire. He said that it was a great privilege for him to play for the franchise,” a source told TOI.

Watson, from Australia, had already retired from international cricket in 2016. Shane Watson was bought by the Chennai Super Kings in the 2018 IPL auction. He has been a part of CSK since 2018, playing a huge part in their title victory that year.

Watto was the Man of the Final in the 2018 edition where he smashed an unbeaten century against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He nearly did an encore in the 2019 final against Mumbai Indians, but CSK fell one run short.

Though CSK lost the finals of the IPL 2019 Watson impressed everyone by playing with an injury which later stats to bleed.

Watson made 555 and 398 runs for CSK in the 2018 and 2019 season but has not had a good run in 2020, where he made only 299 runs from 11 innings. It included an 83* against KXIP earlier in the tournament that led CSK to victory.

Shane Watson will retire from IPL as one of its most decorated allrounders. He scored 3,874 runs at an average of 30.99 with the help of 4 centuries and 21 fifties. With the ball, he picked up 92 wickets.

The report also suggested that Watson can be added to the CSK support staff for the 2021 season. CSK coach Stephen Fleming had spoken about the need to rebuild, saying they’ll look at a fresh core group for the next decade.

“If the IPL takes place in the UAE next year again, which there are whispers it will happen, MS Dhoni will have to play another year. He cannot finish his IPL career in front of no crowd,” Vaughan said on Cricbuzz.

If there is one player who deserves a big crowd to say goodbye to – if he probably cannot play, he would just disappear and say goodbye without us knowing about it – like he did in international cricket,” he added.

Dhoni, who turned up for India in 350 ODIs, 90 Tests, and 98 T20Is while affecting a staggering 829 dismissals behind the stumps, retired from international cricket on August 15 earlier this year. “But I want to see a grand crowd for his last game,” Vaughan insisted.

Rohit Sharma recalls his first double century moment

Rohit had recently spoken about the innings in an Instagram Live chat with R Ashwin. He had said it was former India teammate Yuvraj Singh who told him to make the most of the opportunity as an opener and go for a big one.

“I remember Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) telling me, this is a great opportunity for you. You have just started to open the batting. He told me this is a good opportunity for you to make a big score. I was getting 40s, 50s, 60s. That was a good talk we had before the game,” he said.

“When I went back inside, someone was telling me, if you would have batted for another over or so you would have broken Virender Sehwag‘s record,” said Rohit, who went to score 264 against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens in 2014 which remains the highest individual score.

“The expectation in the dressing room is really high. There were three or four guys who wanted me to score 10 or 15 more runs, Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) was one of them and maybe Shikhar Dhawan too.”

Rohit’s first 50 came off 71 balls, the next 50 off 43 and the last 109 runs off just 44.

“It is a wonderful feeling,” he had said after the knock. “When I went out to bat, I never knew I would get 200. But scoring runs on this ground is easy. I only wanted to carry on from where I left in the last game.

“As you play, records will come. I only want my team to win. That is more important. It’s coming off really well for me since the Champions Trophy and I just want to keep the momentum going,” Rohit said.

Regarding the rumor, commentator Danny Morrison had asked Dhoni about his IPL retirement after the toss in their last match of the tournament against KXIP.

Sunil Gavaskar feels happy about Dhoni’s decision

The single word from MSD makes fans to get rid of the unwanted worries. Not only fans iconic Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar also expressed his gratitude towards Dhoni’s decision and ends up giving a piece of advice.

“It certainly does (bring a smile on my face). He has been such a charismatic cricketer, he brings so much joy with his batting, with his wicketkeeping, and leadership qualities. And his general demeanor on and off the field, what a role model he has been. The more we see of MS Dhoni, the better we feel,” Sunil Gavaskar told Star Sports.

“So yes, definitely not. He has got to play on. Well, Sanga said it earlier on as well, he has got to play competitive cricket. Being in the nets is fine but unless he plays competitive cricket, particularly because he is at an age where the reflexes slow down. What do you tend to lose as you get older is your timing.

Everything might look good. You look at yourself in the mirror, nothing has changed. You might actually lose a little bit of weight, you might go to the gym to get stronger and fitter. But your timing changes, the timing in the sense, you think your foot is going towards the ball, but it’s just that much short for you getting a good drive or the ball going in the air,” he added.

Gavaskar suggestion to Dhoni

Gavaskar noted that Dhoni could play domestic cricket to regain his form and score 400 runs in IPL 2021.

“These are little things he has to look at. That means he has to play domestic cricket. There might be no domestic cricket. In that case, not much can be done. But the more he plays competitive cricket actually matches… in the nets, there will be no pressure, match brings pressure. If he does that, I think he will be good to score 400 runs next year as well,” Gavaskar said.

Shreyas Gopal with a shorter length delivery dismissed Tripathi and breaks the partnership. In the followed over Rahul Tewatia dismissed Dinesh Karthik for duck and loads pressure over KKR.

Morgan, KKR’s skipper has none other option than to hit it hard by himself. Russell walks to Pavillion after scoring a quickfire 25 runs from 10 deliveries. On the other hand, Morgan seems uncontrollable. Eoin strikes aggressively almost in every over and KKR scoreboard has a huge impact when KKR strikers scored 24 runs off a single over from Stokes.

Rajasthan Royals(RR) Batting

Uthappa and Stokes get in to lead RR to chase down the target of 191 runs. Pat Cummins opens the attack against RR. Understanding the importance of the opening partnership Uthappa stats the innings with a six off the first delivery.

Pat Cummins made an expensive first over as he gave 19 runs off the first five deliveries and as a complimentary he dismissed Uthappa. Though Cummins loses runs off his first over he dismissed the dangerous batsman Uthappa for 6 runs.

Steve Smith joins hands with Stokes. This dangerous duo fails to make an impact on the RR scoreboard and dismissed in Pat Cummins’s spell. Cummins in his second over of the innings dismissed Stokes and Steve Smith and lands RR in trouble.

Pat Cummins took 4 wickets within the powerplay

The RR’s nightmare increases when Shivam Mavi in his next over dismissed Sanju Samson for 1 run. Cummins again in his next over dismissed Riyan Parag and lands RR in their worst position.

KKR took the much needed early wickets by dismissing 5 batsmen of the RR team at the end of the powerplay for 41 runs. Still, RR has their game-changer batsmen as Rahul Tewatia and Jos Buttler were on the strike.

This duo needs to make back to back aggressive shots as the required run rate makes it to a peak. This duo leads RR to score 74 runs for 5 wicket loss at the end of the 10th over.

Chakravarthy makes the breakthrough by dismissing Buttler for 35 runs. Buttler’s wicket scatters the RR dream of winning the match. V Chakravarthy in his last over scatters the last hope of RR by dismissing Rahul Tewatia for 31 runs.

RR still can make it out if RR strikers make a magical inning by hitting back to back sixes and boundaries. K Nagarkotiin the 18th over dismissed Jofra Archer and increases the KKR’s winning possibilities.

At the end of the 20th over RR scored 131 runs for 9 wicket loss and got eliminated from the tournament as KKR beat them by 60 runs.

(Ongoing for 19 in the first over) A lot goes through your mind. First few balls weren’t great. As long as you go back to bowling your best balls, it’s alright. Top of off is always that area for me, there was a bit early in there with the new ball.

So, I was trying to get as many in there as I can. Not really, don’t think I expected to get all wickets like that. Some days you bowl well and don’t get luck, some days you get a bit of luck as well.

Today, everything fell into place. I guess early on in the season, I put a lot of pressure on myself. As the tournament has gone on, I’ve got better and better. You’re always learning.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and du Plessis get in to the crease to chase down the target of 153. CSK strikers make a slow start in order to make a good opening partnership. While KXIP seeks early wickets to make change the victory wind flow towards them.

While Faf and Gaikwad make 57 runs for no wicket loss at the end of the powerplay. KXIP is in pressure to break the partnership to slow down the CSK’s run rate. Jordan finally in the 10th over dismissed Faf and makes the much-needed break for the KXIP. At the end of the 10th over CSK scored 84 runs for 1 wicket loss.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s controversy catch

Ambati Rayudu gets in to join hands with Ruturaj. CSK is in need to make a match-winning partnership while the required run rate is very much nearer to their current RR. Gaikwad leads CSK to win the last two matches and expects to do the same in this match.

Ruturaj with his third consecutive fifty of the tournament pumps CSK score to 130 runs for 1 wicket loss at the end of the 16th over. With Ruturaj’s impressive performance CSK finishes the tournament with a victory.

We’ll have a bowl. Vijay Shankar is out, he’s done his hamstring. Saha, fortunately, is fit, so great to have him back in the team. Having a positive attitude and coming out here, we obviously have to win both the games to make it to the finals.

For us, it’s about to come out and start fresh and forget about the last game. It’s how I approach every game, try to come out and do my best, and get us off to a good start. Obviously different wickets in Dubai compared to here in Sharjah with smaller boundaries.

We gotta start well. We only one had one look at this ground that was against Mumbai. It was a challenge, looks like these wickets have slowed up a bit. Got to wait and see how this one plays.

Virat Kohli | RCB skipper

We wanted to bat first, to be honest. It’s pretty dry. We think it’ll get slower and slower as the game progresses. Pretty happy to be batting first. Navdeep’s back for Dube, Udana replaces Steyn from the last game.

It was a strange phase of batting out there (against MI), whatever we hit went to hand. Usually, it doesn’t happen with our batting line-up, but these things happen on the field. Even then, we put up a good fight to defend 165. We are not too far away from having that professional performance that we have put in a number of times in this tournament.

Philippe and Devdutt Padikkal get to lead RCB. Sandeep Sharma opens the attack against RCB. SRH is in need to pick the early wickets in order to make a good start and to restrict the RCB’s run flow.

As expected Sandeep Sharma dismissed Padikkal and makes the first breakthrough in his second over. Virat Kohli gets in to the crease and expects to make the much-needed runs for RCB. But S Sharma again makes another breakthrough by dismissing Virat Kohli for the seventh time in IPL.

RCB can still get a better score if AB de Villiers scores the match-changing runs. ABD and Philippe make a steady partnership which moves RCB to score 61 runs for 2 wicket loss at the end of the 10th over.

Nadeem makes another massive blow for RCB by dismissing ABD for 24 runs. ABD’s dismissal makes a huge impact on RCB’s scoreboard. RCB struggles to score after ABD’s dismissal and wickets too fell like a pack of cards.

Without a big partnership, RCB scored 120 runs for 7 wicket loss and set an easy target for the SRH.

Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) Batting

David Warner and W Saha get in to the crease to chase down the target of 120. SRH needs 6 runs per over to make the victory over the RCB. If RCB manages to make early wickets then the game favor can change towards RCB.

As expected Washington Sundar makes the first wicket by dismissing Warner for 8 runs in the second over of the innings. Saha who makes excellent innings in the previous game is expected to make the much-needed run for the team.

Manish Pandey then joins hands with Saha and leads SRH to score 58 runs for 1 wicket loss at the end of the powerplay. Chahal in his first over dismissed Manish Pandey for 26 runs. After his wicket, the game gets into fifty-fifty winning chances for both the team.

If RCB can make back to back wickets then SRH will land in the trouble. Chahal again made an impact with his ball by dismissing Saha while scoring 39 runs. SRH scored 82 runs for 3 wicket loss at the end of the 10th over.

With a lot of expectations, Williamson too fails to satisfy the SRH’s required run rate. Udana dismissed Williamson for 8 runs. Holder with a six finishes the match and makes the SRH to register their 6th victory of the tournament.

When I started bowling, it was a bit sticky. It’s coming nicely, it’s got cooler here, so it’s helping. I have been bowling the knuckle ball, Jonny (Bairstow) has been helping me. It took around three or four months to get it right.

Kohli is one of the greatest batsmen, so getting him out is special. Now we are finding the momentum with one game to go. We are excited about that, let’s see what happens.
