Indian star player Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma have been ruled out of the first two Test matches of the Australia tour.

Rohit and Ishant Ruled out of the First two Test Matches

India has been scheduled to play the 4 match Test series against Australia which commences from December 17. Ishant and Rohit are subjected to miss the initial stage of the Test match as Australia posted a mandatory 14-day quarantine period upon reaching Australia.

Due to which Rohit and Ishant Sharma have been ruled out of the first two Test matches against Australia. India would face a serious struggle in the second match where the team misses the service of Virat Kohli along with the other two. As Virat Kohli has granted paternity leave after the completion of the first Test match.

Rohit (hamstring injury) and Ishant (ribcage injury) are currently at the NCA for their rehab. Earlier Shastri expressed apprehension on the two players’ participation in the upcoming Test series unless they fly out in the next “three to four days”.

Shastri Interview on Rohit and Ishant possible inclusion in the squad

In his interview, the head coach spoke about Rohit and Ishant being assessed by the NCA medical team. “But things could get difficult if he’s (Rohit) asked to wait for too long, (because) then you’re talking of the quarantine again, which might make it really tough for even him to come just in time for the Test series,” Shastri said.

“He (Rohit) was never going to play the white-ball series, they were just looking to see how long he needed the rest because you can’t afford to be resting for too long. If you need to play in the Test series or any red-ball cricket, you’ve got to be on the flight in the next three or four days. If you aren’t, then it’s going to be tough”.

“It’s a similar case (Ishant’s injury) to Rohit. You don’t really know how quickly he’ll be available to fly out. Like I said, if anyone has to play in the Test series, he has to be on the flight in the next four or five days. Otherwise, it’s very difficult,” Shastri told ABC Sports.

Sakshi Dhoni reveals the answer to “Who can upset Dhoni?”. During her 32nd birthday anniversary, Sakshi revealed this during a chat with CSK.

“Who can upset Dhoni?” – Sakshi Reveals the answer

Where she spoke many unknown facts about the former Indian cricketer. She revealed that she(Sakshi)is the only person who can upset and provoke her husband.

The entire world has seen that the former Indian captain has been the calmest of all on the field. Be it a massive victory or a heart-wrenching defeat, Dhoni has dealt with every situation in his own way.

“He is calmer about everything. I’m the only one who can provoke him or upset him because I’m closest to him. He vents out his anger out on me. I’m fine with it,” Sakshi said during the conversation.

Mrs. Dhoni went on to reveal that the couple never discusses cricket at home. There daughter Ziva hardly listens to anybody but her father.

“First of all, we don’t discuss cricket. That’s his profession. They are professionals. You cannot talk about his baby, his love. She (Ziva) only listens to him. If I’m telling do something. If I’m telling her finish your food quickly or eat this vegetable, I’ll have to tell her 10 times, including Mahi’s mother, including Sheila aunty. Mahi will tell her once and it will just happen in a jiffy,” Sakshi says in the video.

Sakshi also spoke about Dhoni’s long hairs which he donned at the time of his international debut. His look may have inspired many youngsters at that time but Sakshi has different thoughts about that.

“Luckily, I did not see him with long hair because if I had seen him in that orange long hair, I wouldn’t have ever looked at him. There has to be aesthetics. John (Abraham) it sorted of suited him that time, but Mahi with long hair and with that orange colour on top, was like…(Sakshi rolls her eyes).”

Pakistan’s batting legend Inzamam-ul-Haq chose Sachin‘s 98 vs them(Pakistan) in the 2003 WC in South Africa as his favorite. The Pakistan great was talking to India’s premier spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on the latter’s YouTube channel.

It is impossible to talk about the rivalry and not talk about the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. Inzamam acknowledged Sachin’s greatness and how he was always the topic of discussion in the Pakistan dressing room. However, he picked out one special knock that Sachin played as his very best.

Inzamam-ul-Haq picks his Favourite innings from Sachin Tendulkar

Among Sachin’s countless match-winning knocks, Inzamam chose his 98 against them in the 2003 World Cup in South Africa as his favorite amongst them all.

“I have seen Sachin play a lot but the way he batted in that match; I have never seen him play like that before. The way he played against our fast bowlers in those conditions was superb. I think he scored 98 before getting out to Shoaib Akhtar,” Inzamam told Ashwin.

Inzamam emphasized how Sachin made easy work of the lethal Pakistani bowling attack which boasted the likes of Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar. Sachin played a majestic inning of 98 off just 75 balls which included an infamous six against Shoaib Akhtar.

“I feel that innings of Sachin was one of his best. He broke all the pressure that existed. He played a top-quality innings against genuine quality fast bowlers like ours. The way he hit those boundaries, the pressure got released on the batsmen who came after him. If someone were to ask Sachin, he too would absolutely love that innings of his,” added Inzamam.

Chasing Pakistan’s total of 273, thanks to Sachin’s innings, India won the match by 6 wickets. Although the match was being played in seam friendly conditions at Centurion, Sachin was just untouchable that day.

“Our bowling line-up consisted of Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Shoaib Akhtar and the conditions were favouring the fast bowlers. The match was being played at Centurion in South Africa. So we felt that we had put up a pretty good score,” Inzamam.

South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn confirmed to play for Kandy Tuskers in the Lanka Premier League (LPL).

Dale Steyn joins Kandy Tuskers in LPL

Over the last six days, Tuskers saw Chris Gayle – their highest-profile player – withdraw from the tournament due to injury, before Pakistan fast bowler Sohail Tanvir tested positive for Covid-19 after arriving on the island, and entered treatment in isolation, which is expected to keep him out for at least 14 days. Steyn is essentially Tuskers’ replacement for Tanvir and confirmed his signing on Twitter.

With Tuskers due to play the tournament’s first game on November 26, Steyn is almost certain to miss part of the tournament while he undergoes quarantine, team manager and team director Farveez Maharoof said. “We will assess when he can start playing after he arrives,” Maharoof said. “We’ll have to talk to the health authorities before we make a final call.”

Steyn, 37, last played a T20 at the end of October, for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. At Tuskers, he joins a pace attack featuring Nuwan Pradeep, Naveen-ul-Haq, Munaf Patel, and Irfan Pathan. The LPL is set to run from November 26 to December 16, at the Sooriyawewa Stadium near Hambantota.

Former Indian pacer S Sreesanth is set to play T20 league next month plans to host by the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA).

Kerala Cricket Association Organise T20 League

Kerala Cricket Association aims to conduct a T20 league in Alappuzha next month which will mark the return of the former India international.

After Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, and Puducherry, KCA is planning to conduct a local T20 tournament. However, the event is subject to clear by the state government. Sreesanth will be the star attraction of the tournament whose dates are yet to be finalised.

The quick bowler with 87 Test wickets and two World Cup titles was banned by the Board of Management for Cricket in India for his alleged involvement within the IPL spot-fixing scandal in 2013.

Sreesanth returns to play T20 league

Sreesanth’s participation in the upcoming President’s Cup has confirmed by the KCA President Sajan K. Varghese.

“Yes, definitely. Sreesanth will be an attraction. Every player will be in a bio-bubble in one hotel in Alappuzha. We are looking at the first week of December. The clearance from the Kerala government is the main thing,” Sportstar quoted Varghese as saying.

Fantasy sports activities platform Dream11, which has been a part of the opposite hyperlocal T20 leagues, is on board for the Kerala occasion, too. “With the assist of Dream11, it’s a league format that we’ve deliberate. All the groups, from completely different age-groups, are from Kerala,” he stated.

Because the T20 league has been a hit within the strict bio-secure setting in different states, the clearance might simply be a formality.

Regardless of a surge in COVID-19 numbers in Kerala, the restoration charge stays the very best in comparison with different states.

The Kerala speedster was one of the prominent talents in the Indian dressing room. He featured in the Indian squad that won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007. Four years later, he became a part of the Indian team where India lifted the 2011 Cricket World Cup at home.

WBBL Franchise Sydney Sixers Fined USD 25,000

Cricket Australia on Sunday fined the Women’s Big Bash League(WBBL) franchise Sydney Sixers USD 25,000 for breaching tournament regulations. Sydney Sixers fined for erroneously naming a player on the team sheet despite not being part of the primary squad of 15.

    WBBL franchise Sydney Sixers fined

The Sydney Sixers had named fast bowler Hayley Silver-Holmes in their playing XI for the match against the Melbourne Renegades on Saturday night. She had recently recovered from a foot injury. But her return had not yet been approved by the WBBL’s technical committee.

Without the approval, Silver-Holmes was technically ineligible for selection. She was named in the XI but didn’t get to bat as the Sixers finished with 166/4 in their 20 overs.

Sixers got to know of the apparent breach of rules only after the game had started. And as a result, Silver-Holmes didn’t step on to the field in the game’s second innings.

This left the Sixers a bowler short as the Renegades overhauled the target in the final over.

The Sixers reported the error. But were still handed the hefty fine, of which USD 15,000 was suspended for 12 months.

    Sydney Sixers commits administration error

In a statement released on Sunday, CA’s Head of Integrity and Security Sean Carroll said: “Cricket Australia places a significant emphasis on the integrity of all competitions, including the compliance with its player contracting rules and regulations.

Cricket Australia had earlier investigated the “administration error” committed by the Sixers.

“The WBBL is aware of an administrative error pertaining to player selection in the Sydney Sixers-Melbourne Renegades match on Saturday,” the CA said.

“The Sixers self-reported an issue relating to Hayley Silver-Holmes’ paperwork shortly after the Sixers-Renegades game had commenced.

“Silver-Holmes did not bat nor take the field for the Renegades’ run-chase,’ he added.

Why South Africa Won’t Take Knee in Series against England?

Mark Boucher expresses the reason why South Africa won’t take the knee for Black Lives Matter(BLM) movement in their limited over series against England. The series has scheduled to begin on November 27 at Newlands.

Mark Boucher on “Black Lives Matter(BLM) movement”

According to Boucher the reason behind this stance is because South African cricketers have already expressed their support towards the Black Lives Matter(BLM) movement during the 3TC game in July.

Boucher reminded that South African players, administrators, including director of cricket Graeme Smith, had taken the knee while wearing black arm-bands with the BLM logo on it at the ‘3TCricket’ match in Centurion for the Solidarity Cup on July 12.

    3TC- BLM Knee moment
    3TC- BLM Knee moment

“I have spoken to the guy (Lungi Ngidi) who was driving the whole movement within our set-up. He is pretty happy that we have done what we needed to do, in particular at that (3TC) game,” Mark quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

“It’s not something that we have to continue to show. It’s something that you have to live… If guys who brought it up are happy with it, that’s great, but if they feel we have to do more, that will be a chat and that they are open to express their opinions.”

Earlier, it was Ngidi who had spoken out and spearheaded South Africa’s response to the BLM movement. Where he said that “racism is something that we need to take very seriously and like the rest of the world is doing, make the stand.”

    Ngidi
    Ngidi

However, he received flak for his comments with former international cricketers. Pat Symcox and Boeta Dippenaar saying that Ngidi should also speak up against attacks on white farmers in South Africa.

“Our new value system is about respect, empathy, and belonging and all of those lead to an environment where guys feel free to talk about these hard issues. They’ve got the support and respect and empathy from every other player,” Boucher remarked.

“My dad’s wish was always this – mera beta, desh ka naam roshan karna (my son, you should make my country proud). And, I will do that for sure,” said the fast bowler, who had lost his elder brother when he was just seven.

“I know what kind of hardship my dad faced in my early days driving an auto-rickshaw to let me pursue my passion for the game,” said Siraj, who climbed up through the ranks from the bylanes of Toli Chowki.

“It is shocking. I lost the biggest support of my life. It was his dream to see me play for the country and I am glad that way I could realise that and bring joy for him,” a distraught Siraj informed.

“The coach Shastri Sir and captain Virat Kohli were informed about the news. They just told me to be bold and are lending all the support,” Siraj said.

Former Australian skipper Allan Border points that decision of Virat Kohli to take paternity leave will be a key advantage for Australia. Kohli has been granted paternity leave by the BCCI to be with his wife for the birth of their first child.

By which he would return to India after completing the first Test match against Australia. Kohli led India to their first Test series win in Australia on their last tour in 2018-19. But the home side were without batting stars Steve Smith and David Warner, who were serving one-year bans for ball-tampering.

Allan Border on Virat Kohli’s Absence

On a serious note, Border feels that this is the right opportunity for Australia as India are without the services of ‘irreplaceable’ Kohli. “The one thing that is in Australia’s favour is Virat Kohli playing only the first Test. I think that is a big OUT for India. He is irreplaceable at the moment as a batsman and a leader. Should be 2-1 to Australia,” Border said.

He said India could also struggle with the mental fatigue of spending weeks in “bubble” conditions so far from home. But Border said the biggest factor would be Kohli’s absence.

    Allan Border Praises Virat Kohli

“Look, I love the way he plays his game; he wears his heart on his sleeve. I like his aggression and passion for the game. India as a team will miss that. He is a special player, has serious talent and is part of this new India — that’s the way I look at it.

The way India play the modern game, they have a very positive mindset, and Virat has led the way very well in those areas. I am a big fan,” said Border – who till date holds the record for scoring 150-plus runs in both innings of a Test match.

Mumbai Indians batsman Suryakumar Yadav breaks his silence on the staredown conversation with Virat Kohli. The incident took place during the league match between Mi and RCB in IPL 2020.

Virat Kohli attempts to Sledge Suryakumar Yadav

Virat Kohli attempted to make a negative tactic by walking up to the batsman and giving him an unnecessary stare during the match. The incident grabbed the eyeball of every fan and some praised Suryakumar Yadav for his silent move.

While Kohli charged towards the MI batsman to sledge him Yadav stared at him with an expressionless face before going away. Although that incident seemed to have ignited from the heat of the moment, fans now speculate that Yadav has some grudges with the top-ranked ODI batsman.

The gesture by Kohli seemed to have backfired as the MI batsman smashed a match-winning knock of unbeaten 79 off 43 to take his side over the line. Surya also won the man of the match award for his brilliance with the bat.

Suryakumar, who had a brilliant IPL season revealed what Kohli told him after the match. The MI batsman revealed that Kohli praised him for his breathtaking knock. But also admitted that it was extreme pressure while he was in the middle.

Suryakumar Yadav Reveals the incident with Kohli

“After the game, it was completely normal because he walked by my side and he said, ‘Well played, great knock, and all that stuff.’ It was normal like just another day like how you meet your friends and practice. For the 60-65 minutes for which I was batting, it was under a lot of pressure but I really enjoyed that innings.” he said on Sports Tak.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli who currently on the Australia tour receives many backlashes for his negative gesture. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians with their strong batting and bowling order lifts their fifth IPL trophy.

Harbhajan Singh Backs Rishabh Pant to Make a Comeback

Veteran India spinner Harbhajan Singh believes that Rishabh Pant has the ability to make a comeback. The wicketkeeper-batsman viewed as the ideal replacement for MS Dhoni after the former India skipper’s retirement announcement.

Rishabh Pant’s set back opens the window for MSD’s replacement. While Saha and KL Rahul’s names have hit for the wicket-keeper batsman’s replacement it’s still Pant’s who remains on top of the list.

After KL Rahul’s aggressive performance in the IPL 2020, the Indian selection committee would definitely look him as the aggressive batsman. In order to relieve him from the wicket-keeping burden, BCCI would lookout for the best alternate for MSD.

    Harbhajan Singh backs Rishabh Pant

“Rishabh Pant has not been able to live up to the performance that was expected from him. But he is young, and we know that he has a lot of ability, and can do well in the future,” Harbhajan told Sports Tak.

“Even in the recently concluded IPL 2020, he did not have a very successful run. He did not score a lot for Delhi Capitals, but we know that he is a quality player, and if he wants to make a comeback to all the three formats of the game, then he will have to score runs and show his ability,” he added.

“I believe that he will be able to do that in the near future,” Harbhajan Singh said.

Rishabh Pant Performance in IPL 2020

    Rishabh Pant

Pant also had an insipid IPL in the UAE where he scored 343 runs in 14 games. He maintains an average of 31.18 and a strike rate of 113.35. He only scored a solitary fifty in the final against MI. But it was not enough to win DC their first IPL title.

Pant, though, was included in India’s Test squad but it will be interesting to see how the injury situation of Wriddhiman Saha develops over the coming weeks and the left-hander, who had a breakout season in 2018-19 in Australia, gets a chance to play a Test match in Australia this time around.
