The Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf is set to return to Melbourne Stars in January to play BBL10. Rauf’s return to the Stars setup was made possible after South Africa confirmed their dates for their first tour of Pakistan since 2007.

Rauf is currently with the Pakistan squad in New Zealand where the team is set to play three T20Is and two Test matches.

Rauf, who made his debut for Pakistan earlier this year, represented Stars in the previous season and took 20 wickets, which included a hat-trick against Sydney Thunder and a fifer against Hobart Hurricanes.

The 27-year-old pacer will become the third overseas player after Andre Fletcher (who came in as a replacement for Jonny Bairstow) and Nicholas Pooran to join the team. He will join the team in January 2021 and remain with them till early February.

Rauf is expected to arrive in early January and be available until the start of February. It was nice to win, though I was a little nervous when we start batting, and I was surprised we chose to bowl. It wasn’t a 124 wicket but it was harder to score than we thought, I had no idea what the plans were, just did what I was told. Nice to get the points, any points but especially the bonus point for being ahead.
