Meanwhile, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni‘s eight-year-old tweet resurfaced on social media, which mentioned the same thing.

The tweet perfectly summed up Monday night’s situation where every time the RR players tried going for an aerial shot, they mistimed it and hit straight into the hands of the all-rounder.
Not just the catches, Jadeja, also starred with the ball taking two crucial wickets, including that of Jos Buttler, who was playing outstandingly well till the point Jadeja’s spin crashed into his stumps.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be up against each other in the two-match Test series, starting from April 21, 2021, at the Pallekele international stadium, in Pallekele.

The two-Test matches form a part of the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship hosted by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
At present, Sri Lanka is placed at the second-last place on the World Test Championship points table as out of 10 matches, they could register victory only in one match. Three games resulted in a draw while the team faced defeat in six games. They are followed by Bangladesh at the last spot.
Thus far in the elite Test competition, Bangladesh failed to register a victory in any of the games as they have lost all five matches. Besides, the chances of the team winning the Test series against Sri Lanka are also slim as they last won an away Test in 2017 and have lost each of the nine Tests since then.
Though the two-match Test series forms a part of the WTC, it holds no significance as India and New Zealand have already qualified from the final of the marquee event. The final between the two cricketing superpowers will be hosted in England from June 18 to June 22.
The first Test match of the two-match series will be hosted at the Pallekele international stadium, in Pallekele from April 21 to April 25. The match will commence from 04:30 AM GMT.
The last match of the series will be played at the same venue from April 29 to May 3 from 04:30 AM GMT.

Parents of MS Dhoni were admitted to a hospital in his hometown of Ranchi on Wednesday after they tested positive for Covid-19.

Dhoni returned to the 22 yards for the first time after IPL 2020 in the UAE. After the tournament, Dhoni spent time with his family and did not play any competitive cricket. He took to the field only in March when some of the players from the franchise assembled in Chennai for the pre-season training camp.

The Indian cricket board (BCCI) is working on the idea of finally allowing cricketers of a certain age category to participate in ‘The Hundred‘ cricket, a brainchild of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), from 2022.

For now, the under-23 age-category players, both capped and uncapped, and not on national duty, are being considered. However, this is only at a deliberation yet and both cricket boards are nowhere close to confirmation of any sorts yet.
The Hundred’s inaugural season is set to get underway this English summer. Since time is short, especially with Covid wreaking havoc, both boards will allow 2021 pass.
However, if all considerations between BCCI and the ECB are met between now and next year, sources say “BCCI may allow a certain category of Indian cricketers to participate in The Hundred”.

If and when this happens, it’ll be a huge step for the Indian cricket board, which has till now shied away from allowing its active (waged) cricketers to play abroad. The BCCI prefers not to allow its players to play in leagues overseas because the IPL loses a certain bit of exclusivity.
Also, it’s a policy decision that BCCI’s member associations collectively sit on, and also because the BCCI can afford to.
Then why will this particular exception be made for the ECB? Because the IPL now needs to expand. Eight teams being increased to 10 will mean more matches, and in turn, a bigger window.
The BCCI is keen on grabbing the month of March for IPL when the new Future Tours Program (FTP) comes into effect. For that reason, it’ll require other boards to side with India’s line of thought. A quid-pro-quo is the only way forward.
The pressure on broadcasters to cram in double-headers has also been seen as detrimental to the prospects of getting top dollar when BCCI floats the tender for media rights later this year.
“A bigger window for the IPL in future will be BCCI’s biggest takeaway from this,” industry executives said.

Just tried to bowl good areas, just try to take wickets. Different bowlers have different style. My style is to bowl in the air. Don’t want to change much. Sometimes the speed maybe. I try to understand the wicket and bowl like that.
They are winners for MI and so I always go for wickets against these guys initially. I was worried but I knew our batters are smart enough. They have some experience now after playing two matches here.

Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Monday admitted that while it is hard to “keep up” with younger players in the squad he does not want anyone to point fingers at him over his fitness.

“When you are playing, you don’t really want anyone to say he’s unfit. I have to keep up with the younger guys, they are very fast, it’s good to challenge them,” Dhoni said after CSK beat Rajasthan Royals by 45 runs in their IPL match.
“Performances are something that’s guaranteed. I wasn’t guaranteeing performances when I was 24. I can’t guarantee when I am 40, but at least if people can’t point finger at me that he’s unfit then that will be a big positive for me.”
Meanwhile, speaking about the match, the CSK captain applauded his side’s performance.
“I felt Sam bowled really well. Deepak, there was a bit of miscalculation with the knuckle delivery. So I felt a good start was important. Even the wet ball was spinning.
“I don’t really mind Jos playing reverse sweep. If the wet ball was turning then the chance of the dry ball turning is high.”
“The way we have prepared. The bowlers have been under the pump last year also, so they’re used to the conditions.”
“Our bowlers bowled really well, they batted too deep. 10-15 runs extra we gave down the line. We lost the match but there are a lot of positives.

My job here is to try and score as many runs for the team and get a good start. When I went up the order, it wasn’t any easy wicket and I’m pleased with both the departments. I thought as a team we played really well and everyone contributed.
Once the left-handers came in I knew I had a good chance of bowling whenever the captain needs me. I feel it’s a good wicket for the spinners and if you land the ball in the right areas you’ve always got a chance.
AB de Villiers said that he and the South Africa head coach Mark Boucher will talk about the former captain coming out of retirement to play for the Proteas at this year’s T20 World Cup.

Mark Boucher claims that the discussion of including AB de Villiers in T20 WC is still on the table. He also claims that he will give a ‘shout’ to de Villiers after IPL 2021.
“We are lined up to have a chat sometime during the IPL. But yes, we’ve been talking about it already,” de Villiers, who retired from international cricket in May 2018, said after leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore to victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday.
“Last year, he asked me if I would be interested. And I said, ‘absolutely’. And come to the end of the IPL, we will have a look at where we are at with regards to my form and my fitness.

“Also, the situation with his team – he’s got to look at his guys who have been performing well over the last while. If there’s no space for me, so be it. If I can slot in there, it will be fantastic if all those things fall in place. Waiting for [the chat with] Bouchy towards the end of the IPL, and we will then plan accordingly.”

“I did chat to him (AB de Villiers) before he went to the IPL. The conversation is still very much open,” Boucher told reporters according to South Africa website timeslive.co.za.
“AB, being the person he is, wants to perform very well at the IPL to prove to himself and everyone else that he is still a very key figure in world cricket and could dominate at that level,” he added.
“I said to him: ‘Go do your thing, and I’ll give you a shout towards the back-end of the IPL.’ So that is where we are with him,” Boucher further said.

Currently in the ongoing IPL 2021 ABD scored 48 off 27 balls to help RCB to victory against defending champions Mumbai Indians in the opening game before smashing an unbeaten 76 off 34 balls on Sunday against KKR. It helped RCB win the match by 38 runs.

Chahal and Kuldeep have been relegated to Grade C which will see the spin twins earning Rs. 1 crore annually. Previously, in the BCCI contract list for the period from October 1, 2019, to September 30, 2020, Chahal was placed in Grade B where he earned Rs. 3 crore annually.
