International Blind Sports Federation World Games 2023 Women’s Blind Cricket has reached its final phase where the Indian team will be facing Australia on August 26 at Birmingham.

Indian women’s blind team had one of its best moments by being the first team to qualify for the finals of the IBSA World Games 2023. India had made it to the finals by defeating England by 153 runs. But with the net run rate, Australia had topped England and became the second finalist of the tournament.

India opted to bat first, and they dominated England’s bowlers as Simu Das scored 40 runs in 18 deliveries. India had scored 79 runs for no dismissals. Gangavva who came to bat at number 6, had an impressive innings at the Asia Games and scored 33 runs on 20 deliveries.

Finally, India concluded their innings 217 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. India had scored its third 200+ scored in the tournament.

With the target of 218 runs, England started their innings where they struggled to score runs. Soon England understood it was too much to expect from their batters as they were only able to make 64 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs.

India created history by qualifying for the finals of the IBSA World Games 2023. The Blind Cricket made its debut last week in the IBSA World Games. India played their first match on August 20.

India played their first match against Australia and won the game by 8 wickets and started their victory count in the tournament. They restricted Australia to 59 runs where they lost six wickets.

With an easy target, India won the match without a sweat. India faced England in the second match and scored 268 runs losing 2 wickets in 20 overs, where Gangavva smashed 117 in 60 balls. By the end, England was defeated with 185 runs difference.

In the third match of Wednesday, India defeated 162 runs to continue their dominance in the innings. Having won their league matches, the India cricket team qualified for finals and will meet Australia on Saturday.

On the other hand, the Indian men’s blind cricket team defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the semi-finals where Bangladesh had scored 144 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. India will be facing Pakistan in the finals of the IBSA World Games 2023.
