Dewald Brevis Biography: Dewald Brevis is a South African U19 cricketer who was born on April 29, 2003. Dewald Brevis gets under the radar when he got a half-century against India in ICC T20 World Cup 2022, following which the South African players were spotted holding a poster that said ‘BABY AB!’. 

On 8 October 2021, he made his Twenty20 debut for the South Africa Under-19s in the 2021–22 CSA Provincial T20 Knock-Out tournaments. He was picked to South Africa’s selection for the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies in November 2021.

• Later the same year, on December 26, he played his debut Under-19 ODI against the West Indies Under-19s. He scored 14 runs off 25 balls and took three important wickets in the game.
• In November 2021, he was named in South Africa’s team for the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies.
  • • Brevis scored 65 from 99 balls against India in his debut World Cup play. He also claimed the wickets of R Bawa and Vicky Ostwal.
    • Dewald Brevis has broken the world record for the most runs in a single U19 World Cup tournament. Dewald Brevis scored 506 runs in the 2022 U19 WC. Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan holds the record previously by scoring 505 runs.

• Dewald Brevis was roped by five times IPL champion Mumbai Indians for INR 3 crores in IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
  • • In April 6, 2022, Dewald Brevis made his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders and scored 29 runs off 19 deliveries which includes a couple of sixes and as many as boundaries.
    • In April 13, 2022, in MI vs PBKS league match, Dewald Brevis scored 49 runs off 25 balls which includes 4 boundaries and 5 sixes. Notably, he smashed a boundary and 4 back to back sixes in the 9th over bowled by Rahul Chahar.

Dewald Brevis in IPL wishes to play for RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) as De Villiers and Virat Kohli being two of his most favourite players.
