    • Dewald Brevis’s mother’s name is Yolanda Brevis who is self-employed, his father’s name is Jack Brevis. His elder brother’s name is Reinard Brevis.
    • He completed his schooling and mastered the fundamentals of cricket at Pretoria’s Afrikaanse Hoor Seunskool (Affies). Star cricketers from the Proteas, like AB de Villiers and Faf du Plessis, attended the same school.

    • In April 2021, he was signed by Northerns ahead of the 2021–22 domestic cricket season in South Africa.
    • He made his Twenty20 debut on 8 October 2021, for the South Africa Under-19s in the 2021–22 CSA Provincial T20 Knock-Out tournament. He scored 46 from 25 balls that day, including two fours and four sixes.
    • Later the same year, on December 26, he played his debut Under-19 ODI against the West Indies Under-19s. He scored 14 runs off 25 balls and took three important wickets in the game.
    • In November 2021, he was named in South Africa’s team for the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies.
        • Brevis scored 65 from 99 balls against India in his debut World Cup play. He also claimed the wickets of R Bawa and Vicky Ostwal.
        • Dewald Brevis has broken the world record for the most runs in a single U19 World Cup tournament. Dewald Brevis scored 506 runs in the 2022 U19 WC. Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan holds the record previously by scoring 505 runs.

        • In April 6, 2022, Dewald Brevis made his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders and scored 29 runs off 19 deliveries which includes a couple of sixes and as many as boundaries.
        • In April 13, 2022, in MI vs PBKS league match, Dewald Brevis scored 49 runs off 25 balls which includes 4 boundaries and 5 sixes. Notably, he smashed a boundary and 4 back to back sixes in the 9th over bowled by Rahul Chahar.

    “For me, the biggest dream is to play for the Proteas and then I am such a big fan of the IPL, I would love to play for RCB because AB (de Villiers) and (Virat) Kohli are there,” said Brevis in a video posted on the official website of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
